SWTOR The Foundry Guide
Welcome to my SWTOR the Foundry flashpoint guide. In this guide I will tell you everything you need to know about the flashpoint, and how to successfully complete it with minor deaths and failures. This flashpoint is shorter than Boarding Party, though you must have completed Boarding Party in order to enter the phase for The Foundry. This flashpoint is not too difficult once you know what you’re doing, and how to defeat each boss.

SWTOR The Foundry Guide – Basics
Level Requirement: 37+
Located: The Imperial Fleet
Classes: (Empire only) Sith Warrior, Sith Inquisitor, Bounty Hunter, Imperial Agent
Recommended Party Size: 4 (1 Tank, 2 DPS, and 1 Healer)
Prereqs: Boarding Party flashpoint
As with most flashpoints in SWTOR, when you play through the Foundry, players are given the decision of whether to choose Light or Dark Side options. Doing so will grant you 150 alignment points towards your characters’ alignment score.
I would suggest completing every available bonus mission in the Foundry, as doing so grant you access to bonus bosses, thus giving you some nifty new gear, and obviously more experience too!
SWTOR The Foundry Boss Strategies
In the sections that follow, we will discuss each boss that you can fight in the Foundry.
The Foundry Guardian
The Foundry Guardian will be the first boss you encounter once inside the phase. He has 71k HP. At the moment he appears to be bugged for all players, making him relatively easy to complete, as currently the only tactics needed to complete this boss is tanking and spanking. However, if when you come to complete the flashpoint he is not bugged, he has a powerful attack called “Molten Burst”: this is a channeled ability which cannot be interrupted, so players must ALL run from this. Watch out for this while you play through, as it may or may not be bugged.
HK-47
This is a fun fight, though it can be challenging for the healer in your group if they are inexperienced with MMO mechanics. HK-47 has several abilities including: flamethrower-this is a conal ability, meaning that the tank should face HK-47 away from the rest of the party or they will suffer AoE damage, Knockback-an annoying move which pushes all players away from him, Snipe-which is his favorite move. It can be quite nasty and seems to be directed at random party members. It hits for about 3k HP per shot. This is where the healer really needs to be on the ball and look out for those being targeted, as those below 50% health can be killed by this move.
Occasionally, HK-47 will throw grenades at random party members which is an AoE attack dealing approximately 800-900 damage per person. Aside from this boss’ abilities, the fight itself has several mechanics to be aware of. The mechanics are repeating, which means that once you seen it once, it will repeat again and again until HK-47 dies.
Basically, the dynamic of this battle boils down to killing the adds (which appear in 2 waves of 2) when they spawn, damage the boss, and then unlocking the boss when he is encased in a core. The power core has 4 pillars for each party member to position themselves in. You need to click on the button on the pillar to unlock HK-47 from the power core. As soon you unlock HK-47, the whole cycle repeats again: 1st wave of adds, damage boss, 2nd of adds, damage boss, unlock boss from power core.
Burrower Matriarch (Bonus)
This boss will be available to defeat upon completion of all the bonus missions in the phase. These fights is basically tank and spank again, much like The Foundry Guardian. The only thing you need to watch out for is when the adds split from the boss and run away from it. Watch out for the acid too, as this boss has a knockback move which can push you into it! The acid spit is very nasty and does around 2k damage per tick so you need to get out of it as soon as possible.
N4-10 Exterminator
This Is another mini-boss with a very easy mechanic. You need to avoid the blue circles he places on the ground. Tanks should also position him facing away from the rest of the party as some of his abilities might be conal.
Revan
Whilst this is not a very difficult fight for a last boss, it is bugged at the time of writing, so you will need to do exactly as I say, or the dialogue option will not load once he is defeated. He has a few abilities including: Force choke, Huge Knockback, Force Push, Force Storm and Falling Rocks. Force Choke will target one random party member, pushing them upwards and choking them. If this is done to a tank he will start attacking the nearest DPS, so watch out, though this move doesn’t do a great deal of damage itself.
Huge Knockback, as you may have guessed, is a huge knockback move. It is bigger than most boss’ knockback moves, and it is capable of flinging you to the other side of the room. Failure to stand in the middle of the room may result in being pushed off the edge to instant death. Force Push will force a party member near him to the other side of the room. He loves to do this to the tank, and will then attack the nearest DPS. Tanks need to return ASAP when this occurs.
About half-way through the fight, Revan will summon all party members next to him and will start using Force Storm. This is an AoE attack that does about 200 damage per tick. You will need to run out of the range to avoid taking any damage. When Revan is at 20% health, he will perform a move that will bring rocks down from the sky. To avoid this move, avoid the purple circles that he places on the floor. There are no other special mechanics to this fight other than Revan’s abilities.
BUG: You must not attack Revan when he is performing channeled abilites like Force storm and bring him down to below 10%. If you do this, the fight will bug out and Raven will not trigger his script. When Revan is at low health, just stop DPS when he does force storm or falling rocks.
Now you’ve completed The Foundry, kick back in your shiny new gear! I hope this Foundry guide proved as a useful tool to aid you throughout the phase. For a full guide for everything SWTOR, check out Aeon Guide:
