SWTOR Gault Rennow Companion Guide
This is my SWTOR Gault Rennow guide, designed to tell you everything you need to know about the ex-smuggling Devaronian.
The Bounty Hunter class focuses on tracking down and, typically, assassinating people for credits. It is one of the classes aligned with the Sith Empire that is not Force-sensitive. Bounty Hunters employ a wide range of tactics, utilizing technology, weaponry, explosives, brute force, and old fashioned hunting skills to track down elusive prey and tip the odds in the bounty hunters favor.
Jetpacks are also a stronghold of a Bounty Hunter’s manifest, due to this equipment’s ability to get them into places generally inaccessible. As they play on the Imperial side, they tend to have darker conversation options, though you can still choose to have a light side personality. While most Bounty Hunters will prefer use of a tank or healer, Gault Rennow can be useful as he is a ranged DPS. He would probably be more applicable to a Powertech in a tanking role, as he will help knock down your enemies’ health in combat.
Gault used to be a Notorious Smuggler, but has now found comfort in a paranoia-free life as a gun-for-hire. You will acquire him at the end of Tattooine, which will be at around level 27. His real name is actually Tyresius Lokai and his cautiousness and duplicity are a constant reminder that the only thing to really change is his name.
Level of recruitment: Approximately level 27.
Gault has a Neutral personality, meaning some light and some dark options will still gain affection with him. When you use a Neutral companion, you need to be really sure about what conversation options they prefer. His favourite options are ones relating to: greed, indulgence, and thinking your way through a problem, while his least favourite are fair fights, pain, charity, and rules. Gault is another character who is relatively hard to please, as he has a neutral personality. Again, like Mako, I find the best way to gain affection with him is by buying him gifts.
As Rennow specializes in being a ranged DPS, he benefits from using a Sniper Rifleand a Vibroknife. Gault will assist you in combat, making sure your enemies are eliminated quickly and efficiently.
Role: Ranged DPS
Likes: Greed, indulgence, thinking your way through a problem
Dislikes: Fair fights, pain, charity, and rules
Primary Weapon: Sniper Rifle
Secondary Weapon: Vibroknife
You will find that while you make your way trhough the SWTOR planets and story, that items will be given as rewards. Sometimes these items will be specifically designed for your companions. You’ll know when you find one, as their name is in the title of the item. Gault is proficient in Medium armor like Mako, so if you’d rather buy him unique armor, you can do so by visiting one of the many medium armor vendors found scattered across the galaxy.
Although my SWTOR Gault Rennow Companion Guide is mainly to teach you his favourite gifts and conversation choices, he is also a dab-hand with certain crew skills. The crew skills he is talented in are Slicing and Cybertech. He will achieve a +15 bonus in slicing and a +5 bonus in Cybertech when he’s used respectively.
Gault Rennow, unfortunately, is not romance-able, though if you gain enough affection with him he will still share his past experiences and stories with you, and will improve your characters ”Presence” attribute. Although you could spend hours of time doing quests to gain affection with Gault, the most efficient way of doing this is by buying him his favourite types of gift. His favourite types of gift are: Weapons, luxury, technology, cultural artifacts, and underworld goods.
Military Gear: indifferent
Republic Memorabilia: indifferent
Imperial Memorabilia: indifferent
Cultural Artifact: like
Underworld Good: favourite
Armor Proficiency: Medium
Primary Stat: Cunning
Secondary Stat: Endurance
Crew Skill Proficiency: +15 Slicing,+5 Cybertech
Hopefully this SWTOR Gault Rennows Companion Guide was of some use helping you understand how he works, what he likes, and what armor and weapons he prefers.
